This was a very special proposal. I'd met Taylor when we collaborated on a bridal styled shoot at the beginning of 2020. Her energy was amazing and during the shoot, we talked as if we'd known each other forever. At the end of our bridal shoot she told me she'd want me to capture her proposal whenever he boyfriend proposed. She jokingly said she wanted to plan her own proposal and ensure her boyfriend booked me for this important moment. She asked me for a business card and of course I didn't have one on me *face palm.* Taylor and I stayed in touch and I met her boyfriend, Kyle, while they were modeling at a wedding styled shoot during the summer of 2020. It was there that I was able to see how sweet these two were together and how much love they had for one another.
So fast forward to April 2021 when Kyle emailed me saying he wanted to propose to Taylor and wanted to know my availability. I LITERALLY SCREAMED!!! I was so excited as this had been years in the making and I was ecstatic to be capturing this proposal. Kyle spoke so sweetly of Taylor and I knew this was going to be an emotional proposal.
The day of the proposal we met on North Shore and I hid in the trees to capture this sweet session. Taylor was so shocked and it was amazing to see her face when she looked up and realized I'd captured her proposal without her even knowing I was at the beach.
After the proposal we caught up and I captured engagement photos of these two cuties. However we had to play hide and seek with the sporadic rain that seemed to be traveling over us. The thing about Hawaii is when it rains, it's so random that it's
likely passing showers. So for an hour we'd wait for pockets of sunlight to make this magic and were blessed with a rainbow.
We ended their session popping bottles of champagne. Even with the unpredictable weather, this session was so beautiful and full of love. Such a blessing to be able to capture these two for such an important time in their relationship!
